I’m such a bad guest writer! I had such high hopes of getting a new post up fortnightly (or at least monthly) but life seems to have gotten in the way. Between the school run, work and kids who play sport 3 afternoons a week, getting out the door each morning can be quite a battle. So here are my top three tips for getting out the door in the morning without looking like you have just dragged yourself out of bed after a big night out.
1. Prepare your outfit the night before
There is nothing worse then trying to get ready in the morning only to find you have a hole in your tights or your pants are too big. Taking 10 minutes the night before to set out your outfit and make sure it’s up to scratch can save a lot of time and stress in the morning.
2. A bit of mascara can do wonders for your look
Dragged yourself out of bed after being up all night with a vomiting child? Skip the full face of make up, a coat of mascara and a bit of lipgloss takes less then 5 minutes and still makes it look like you are making an effort. Use the time it saves to grab another cup of coffee, you’ll need it to get through the day.
3. Take care of your skin
My final tip is to look after your skin. Taking good care of your skin gives you a better base to start with. Skin that is clean and well moisturised takes less prep work in the morning. You can skip the primer and full coverage foundation and use a tinted moisturiser instead.
So they are my top 3 tips for getting out the door in the morning and still looking good. Do you have any tips for a time poor, beauty conscious mum?
